<p>A cooling unit for an integrated circuit. The cooling unit (10) includes a peltier device (18) that may be coupled to the integrated circuit and a plurality of fins (22) that are thermally coupled to the peltier device. The fins (22) are separated by at least one channel (26). The cooling unit includes a fan (30) that generates a flow of fluid through the channel. A temperature sensor (34) and a control unit (32) selectively switch the peltier device (18) and the fan (30) on and off in accordance with the power generated by the integrated circuit.</p> |
