PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer and fix onto a resin coated recording medium that is thick and has a large heat capacity at high speed while maintaining high image quality in a case where the resin coated recording medium that is coated with resin on its surface is appropriate for recording an image. SOLUTION: In this image forming device, a recording medium heating means 50 is provided. Then, this heating means 50 is provided with a chute 52 that is installed in the middle of a carrying path where the recording medium P is carried toward a transfer fixing position P2 by a recording medium carrying means 40 and supporting a bottom surface of the recording medium that is being carried, air heating parts 56 and 57 where air is heated and the heated air is blown to a top surface of the recording medium that is being carried over the chute 52 and housings 51 and 53 producing a passage of air flow that pushes down the recording medium that is carried over the chute 52 with blown air.
