The loudspeaker drive unit comprises a resonant acoustic radiator (14), an exciter (12) on the radiator to apply a bending wave energy to the radiator to cause it to resonate, and a support (34) for the loudspeaker drive unit. The drive unit includes a resilient suspension member (42) to couple the exciter to the support. The support may comprise a lightweight frame-like structure on which the radiator is resiliently suspended. The frame may be such as to enclose the radiator panel. The resilient suspension member is arranged to allow free motion of the exciter in an intended axial direction and to prevent motion of the exciter orthogonally of the axis. The resilient suspension member may comprise a plate having radially inner and outer parts, the outer part being formed by at least one opposed pair of arms having free ends.
