PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide a large-space basement by providing intermediate underground units provided with parallel side walls on the plan view between a pair of end underground units provided with U-shaped side walls on the plan view, and installing these units below the house unit of a unit house on the ground. SOLUTION: Intermediate underground units 4, 5 are provided between a pair of end underground units 2, 3, and these units 2-5 are installed below a house unit on the ground. Each of the end underground units 2, 3 is provided with a bottom plate 6, a top plate 7, a pair of gable walls 8, a girder wall 9, a girder face opening section 10 on the other girder face, and a U-shaped cross section in the horizontal direction. Each of the intermediate underground units 4, 5 is provided with a bottom plate 6, a top plate 7, a pair of gable walls 8, and a parallel cross section in the horizontal direction. The intermediate underground units 4, 5 are arranged so that girder face opening sections 10 are abutted against the end underground units 2, 3 and adjacent intermediate underground units 4, 5.
