PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize reduction of the manufacture cost and enhancement in product reliability due to shortening of exhaust time by enhancing an exhaust efficiency of a plasma display panel. SOLUTION: An infrared absorbing member 9 is formed on an inner surface of a back glass plate 5 in an indication area of a plasma display panel 61 and an infrared heating 20 of the panel 61 is carried out at an exhaust step. Even if a heating temperature of a sealing member 4 is not higher than a heat resistant temperature of the sealing member 4, the heating temperature of the indication area is raised to the heat resistant temperature or more of the sealing member 4.
