PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a normal printing processing even when next new print data are outputted before an initializing processing by adding a special code which is never generated through a compression encoding processing to the head part of print data when encoded data are outputted as print data to the printer. SOLUTION: This printer is comprised of a CPU 1 which controls the printer, a ROM 2 as a control program storage part stored with a control program for editing and printing control over print data that the CPU 1 performs, a RAM 3 as a print data storage part storing the print data, etc. The ROM 2 includes a control program storage area 21, a special code storage area 22, a special code recognition program storage area 23, etc. In this constitution, binary data are encoded first through the compression encoding processing. When the encoded data are outputted as print data to the printer, the special code which is never generated through the compression encoding processing is added to the head part of the print data.
