PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spacer for ventilation capable of coping with irregularity on the top surface of a foundation, of obtaining sufficient ventilating ability by itself, of securing a necessary gap area for ventilation with a height capable of blocking the passage of a rat, and of promoting the dryness of groundsill in a region in contact with the groundsill, in addition to other characteristics. SOLUTION: A spacer for ventilation is formed by using a metal plate material, and a horizontal surface portion 2 and a vertical surface portion 3 are alternately arranged thereby forming a corrugated shape comprising recessed portions 4 and projected portions 5 arranged repeatedly. In this way, adequate elasticity can be obtained and also deformation can be easily given as required thereby adequately coping with the irregularity on the top surface of the foundation. Also, percentage of opening itself is high so that itself has a high gas permeability.
