The seat assembly comprises of a seat base (2) and a back rest assembly (3). The seat base is mounted on runners (5) that enable the seat to move longitudinally upon release of a lock bar (8). The upper section of the seat back is located in a rail assembly (12) that is located on the vehicle side. A release trigger (11) is mounted to the seat bask such that the seat back can be released from the rail and folded.
