PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high capacity lithium secondary battery using a negative electrode base material having excellent mechanical material properties while being a thin film. SOLUTION: This lithium secondary battery contains a positive electrode formed by painting lithium metal oxide on a positive electrode base material, a negative electrode formed by painting a carbon material or SnO2 on a negative electrode base material, a separator existing between the positive electrode and the negative electrode and electrolyte impregnated in the positive electrode, the negative electrode and the separator. The negative electrode base material is Cu-based alloy foil having a thickness of not more than 20 μm to be added with at least one substance selected from a group of nickel, titanium, magnesium, tin, zinc, boron, chromium, manganese, silicon, cobalt, iron, vanadium, aluminum, zirconium, niobium, phosphor, bismuth, lead, silver and misch metal in this lithium secondary battery. |
