PURPOSE: To provide a contour data converter capable of forming dot data of good appearance even with contour lines of characters, graphics, etc., of fine line widths. CONSTITUTION: The intersected points with the contour lines are determined with each of X-direction scanning lines and Y-direction scanning lines. The pixels 10 to 12 between respective pairs of the intersected points are determined as presence dots to express the presence of the characters, graphics, etc., when the pixels 10 to 12 exist between respective pairs of the adjacent intersected points. The pixels on both outer sides of respective pairs of the intersected points are determined as a pair of quasi dots when the pixels 10 to 12 do not exist. If the Y-direction quasi dot among respective pairs of the quasi dots in the X direction and only one side constitute an AND, the quasi dot is determined as the presence dot. If both thereof constitute the AND and both do not constitute the AND, the quasi dot nearer the contour line is determined as the presence dot. Respective paris of the quasi dot in the Y direction are set at the presence dots and all the presence dots are synthesized. |
