PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve blanking yield of a quarter-wave plate used in a liquid crystal display device with a touch panel having reduced internal reflection. SOLUTION: In the device, a polarizing plate 1, a quarter-wave plate A2, a touch panel 8, a quarter-wave plate B6 and a liquid crystal cell 7 are arranged from the display screen side in this order. In the device, an arrangement is provided so as to make an axis of polarization of the polarizing plate 1 and a slow axis of the quarter-wave plate A2 in the film plane essentially form an angle of 45 deg. and to make a slow axis of the quarter-wave plate B6 and an axis of polarization of outgoing light from the liquid crystal cell 7 essentially form an angle of 45 deg.. Besides the slow axes of the quarter-wave plate A2 and the quarter-wave plate B6 are arranged so as neither to be parallel nor to be orthogonal with each other. |
