The stand (1) is made of two identical members (2) with rectangular-section central portions and two square-section arms (4) at each end. The arms lie parallel to each other and at right angles to the central portions (3). Each central portion has a longitudinal slot (5) running for half its length. The two members are assembled at right angles to each other with the slots in opposite orientation and pushed together until the bottoms of the slots come in contact. The resultant assembly has arms at the top at right angles to each other supporting the platter and four arms at the bottom at right angles to each other, resting on the table top.
