PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for displaying the ultraviolet index of a mobile communication terminal are provided to measure and display the ultraviolet index in a mobile communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: If power is supplied(301), a controller checks whether a ultraviolet index display mode has been set up(303). If the ultraviolet index display mode has been set up, the controller checks whether the ultraviolet index display mode is an automatic display mode(305). If the ultraviolet index display mode is manual, the controller whether an ultraviolet index display key is inputted from a key input unit(307). If the ultraviolet index display key is inputted from the key input unit, the controller receives an ultraviolet strength data, measured by a sensor, through an analog-digital converter(309). Then, the controller displays an ultraviolet index corresponding to the ultraviolet strength data on a display unit(311).
