AQUEOUS DISPERSION OF POLYMER, ITS PRODUCTION AND WATER- BASED RELEASING AGENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous dispersion of a polymer giving a coating film having excellent heat-resistance even after the storage of the dispersion at a high temperature, forming a coating film having excellent transparency without causing the clouding even at a drying temperature of as low as <=100 deg.C in the forming of the coating film and usable as a water-based releasing agent having excellent transparency and keeping the releasing performance even after the storage at a high temperature. SOLUTION: The aqueous dispersion of a polymer is produced by dispersing particles of a graft polymer (b) having a >=8C hydrocarbon group on the side chain of a stem polymer (a) in water. The weight-average molecular weight of the stem polymer (a) is >=20,000 and/or the viscosity of the graft polymer (b) as a 40 wt.% diluted toluene solution at 60 deg.C is >=50 mP.s and the particles of the graft polymer (b) is finely dispersed in water in the form of particles having a volume-average particle diameter of <0.3μm.
