PURPOSE: A method for smelting highly refined glass and a glass smelting furnace are provided, to reduce the bubble inside of the glass. CONSTITUTION: A method comprises the steps of heating glass to generate the counterclockwise recirculation current during the smelting process; ascending the smelted glass homogeneously through the submerged pathway; and re-refining the glass at the pressure of 10¬3 to 10¬5 Pa and at the cooling rate of 30-100°C/m. The glass smelting furnace comprises a smelting part (13), a refining part (14) and a re-refining part, wherein the depth (H2) between the bottom of the smelting part and the lower part of the submerged pathway is in the range of 0.1-0.3 m and the length (L5) between the bottom of the submerged pathway exit and its ascending point is larger than H2 value. |
