PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost spindle motor used in a magnetic disk and easily assembled, without special steps in manufacturing, along with high capacity, high rigidity, and high reliability, by insulating readily a terminal lead passed in the through-hole of a fixed shaft. SOLUTION: A spindle motor includes a fixed shaft 1, on which a stator core 6 with a turned winding 49 is mounted, a hub 3 for mounting a magnetic disk 22, a rotor frame 2 for supporting the hub 3, a rotor magnet 5 mounted on the rotor frame 2 and placed facing the stator core 6, and a ball bearing 8 arranged on both sides of the stator core 6. In this case, an inner ring of the bearing 8 is inserted in the fixed shaft 1. The fixed shaft 1 has a through- hole 53 for passing a terminal lead 51 of a winding 49, and a resinous coating 52 made of resin such as epoxy resin, acrylic resin or polyester resin is formed inside the through-hole 53 through electrodeposition coating and spray painting. |
