PLUTONIUM EXISTING POSITION MEASURING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and safely conduct recovery works by clearly indicating the distribution state where and how much plutonium powder stays in a glove box and ensuring plutonium control. SOLUTION: A neutron detector 14 counting incident neutron, and elevating/ traversing mechanism 12 holding it capable of displacing in a plane, a dolly 10 capable of loading and moving the elevating/traversing mechanism 12 and a data processor for inputting position data and count data of the neutron detector 14 are provided. By intermittently scanning the neutron detector 14 with the elevating/traversing mechanism 12 along the surface of a to-be-inspected equipment where plutonium stays, incident neutron number at each position of counted. The relation between the position data of the neutron detector 14 and the neutron count data at the position is output by the data processor as a color or gradation distribution map in two dimension.
