PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display device capable executing a proper protective functional operation by detecting overcurrent early and surely even when relatively small abnormal current flows. SOLUTION: A power source device 3 inputs various power sources V needed for driving a PDP 2 via a current value detecting means 4, the means 4 detects the current value of power source current i(t) flowing from the power source device 3 to output it as power source current data D. A protective means 5 compares the power source current data D with an overcurrent protective level S3 and when the current value of the power source current i(t) exceeds the level S3, the means 5 inputs a protective function control signal S2 to the power source device 3, which performs protective operations stopping the outputting of the power sources V or the like. A driving circuit 1 obtains a waveform Y becoming always slightly higher value than that of a waveform X of the predicted power current i(t) to set the waveform Y as the overcurrent protective level S3. |
