PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the convergence in an excellent way over an entire image display area of a cathode ray tube even at small number of correction points. SOLUTION: A timing generating circuit 14 can vary positions of convergence correction points by varying a time parameter among the convergence correction points. Thus, in the case that matching between a correction waveform phase and an actually required correction waveform phase and partially detailed distortion requires correction, a fine correction waveform can be applied to the part.
