The invention applies to cabinets designed to contain, side by side, a number of items (5) of electrical equipment e.g. relays, contactors, indicating lamps, etc., supplied, e.g. via circuit-breaker and busbar, from one secondary terminal of an isolating transformer, the other secondary terminal being bonded to earth and to the cabinet frame. The latter includes an electrically conducting support member, e.g. a rail (6), C-shaped in cross-section, whose open face receives a spring contact (7), located on the rear (10) of the equipment item, as the latter is being mounted on the rail. The spring contact is internally connected (8) to the equipment terminal intended to be earthed. Simultaneously, the equipment item is retained mechanically by grooves (11) fitting over upper and lower lips (12) on the rail.
