PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a period of time required for making new ice when no ice is present in an icebox. SOLUTION: When an input is made by an operating switch, a timer A11 of a microcomputer is set to almost half of a normal time, and a timer B13 of the microcomputer is set to almost half of the normal time. Then, water is supplied into an ice tray so as to fill almost half of the capacity of the ice tray. Therefore, the size of the ice is reduced almost by half, and the period of time required for making ice is reduced almost by half.
