摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen shifting of a position on road links and to determine correctly the position on the road links. SOLUTION: Based on the present position obtained by dead reckoning navigation, a candidate link is extracted from road links in map data (step SO1). In the case when the candidate link is in a plurality (YES at step SO2), a candidate link processing to determine the degree of correlation in respect to all the candidate links is conducted (step SO4) and the candidate link of which the degree of correlation is the lowest is specified (step SO6). The position on the road link is specified from the amount of shift of the road link at the time when the similarity becomes the minimum in the candidate link processing at the step SO4 (step SO7). Then, the azimuth used by the dead reckoning navigation is corrected on the basis of the amount of turning of the azimuth which is determined on the basis of the specified position on the road link (step SO8).
