At least one key element (24) is provided, whose key section (26) borders on a surface of the sheet material opposite the bearing, and is diverted according to the thickness of the material. A magnetic sensor (38), preferably a Hall-sensor, records a magnetic field, preferably produced through a permanent magnet (34), which changes dependent on the path of the key section, and submits a corresponding signal. The magnetic field and the sensor are arranged in such way in the area of the key section, that the magnetic field goes through the transport slot and/or the sheet material located in it.
