PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the water generated at the time of cutting garbage into small pieces and to reduce the sticking or the clogging of the garbage small chips causing the generation of malodor. SOLUTION: The garbage cutting device is provided in a hopper 2 for charging the garbage into a biologically treating vessel 1. The device cuts the garbage charged from the hopper 2 to the biologically treating vessel 1. A movable blade 3A having a cutting edge 3a extending in the horizontal direction is provided freely movably in the back and forth direction at the front end. A movable accepting plate 4 for accepting the garbage is provided movably in the back and forth direction below the movable blade 3A with a certain distance.
