PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve precision in the dimension of a finished TATAMI mat even at the time of producing a new TATAMI mat or exchanging TATAMI matting. SOLUTION: A TATAMI sewing device is provided with a TATAMI mat plain piercing machine 1 where a TATAMI matting cutting blade 11 for mainly cutting TATAMI matting which is sewed in a TATAMI mat and a TATAMI base cutting blade 12 for mainly cutting the TATAMI base are arranged at an interval. Then, the finish dimension is decided with the TATAMI base cutting blade 12 as reference at the time of producing a new TATAMI mat and is decided with the TATAMI matting cutting blade 11 as reference at the time of exchanging the TATAMI matting.
