PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent water from intruding into a fitting recess. SOLUTION: A waterproof connector is equipped with a receipt side connector housing 10 having a fitting recess 16, a fit-in side connector housing 20 to be fitted in the recess 16, and a seal member 30 which is installed in the recess 16 between the two housings 10 and 20 to establish waterproofing, wherein at the periphery of the fit-in side connector housing 20, a rib 28 is formed which rises in the position near the opening part of the recess 16 in the condition fitted in the housing 10 and continues over the whole circumference in tracing the opening shape of the recess 16. Even if high-pressure water is injected from the front of the housing 10, the water is repelled by the rib 28, so that the recess 16 is precluded certainly from intrusion of water.
