PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cartridge loading mechanism by which a cartridge is easily loaded and taken out and which does not invite the magnification of the camera size. SOLUTION: This camera in which a film cartridge equipped with film, a cartridge spool, a taking in/out port for taking in/out the film, and a light shielding door for opening/closing the taking in/out port can be loaded is equipped with a loading port 101b provided on the back surface side of the camera and a housing part 1 housing the cartridge; and a cover opening/ closing the loading port 101b by turning centering around a shaft parallel with the cartridge spool of the cartridge housed in the housing part 1, an operation member 6 capable of being operated from the outside, and light shielding door opening/closing mechanisms 2 and 3 opening/closing the light shielding door of the film cartridge loaded in the camera in accordance with the operation of the operation member 6 are constituted. The mechanisms 2 and 3 are provided above the housing part 1.
