<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily detect a fault related to an ATM cell on the side of transmitter. SOLUTION: In this media data transfer system for transferring the cells of media data between a transmitter 1 and a receiver 4, the transmitter 1 has cell transfer means 11-14 and 17 for transferring the ATM cells to plural virtual channels with prescribed delay time and a fault detecting processing part 21 for transmitting the fault recovery data of a fault level and prescribed delay time corresponding to the number of virtual channels to transfer the ATM cells when the fault of the ATM cell is detected. The receiver 4 has a fault processing part 51 for outputting a switch signal and cutback signal at prescribed timing based on the contents of fault recovery data from the transmission equipment 1 and a switching means 52 for disconnecting the virtual channel in the side of the fault cell when this switch signal is received, selecting the other virtual channel, fetching the normal ATM cell and outputting it.</p> |
