PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the manufacturing method of a developer carrier by which the accuracy of a flange can be contrived without increasing the number of manufacturing processes and the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A cylindrical member is formed by cutting a pipe-like body obtained by the extrusion process or the drawing process as long as fixed length. On the other hand, an engagement part 1 engaged with the developer carrier, a shaft part 2 and a gear fitting part 3 whose cross section being vertical in the shaft direction of the shaft part 2 is formed to be H-shaped are formed so as to form the flange in conformity with cold forging. Then, the accuracy of the flange is set with respect to a previously decided reference surface by cutting at least one part of the engagement part 1, the shaft part 2 and the gear fitting part 3 thereof. Then, surface property is given to the cylindrical member as the developer carrier by processing the surface of the cylindrical member after engaging the obtained flange with the end part of the cylindrical member. |
