The pruner/secateur, comprising of two cutting elements (10,12), one of them shaped as a blade (16), the other one fitted with an anvil (12), both movable joined with a pivot (18), is equipped with a spring (20) between the cutting elements (10,12). The catch, operated with a sliding button (22), positioned on top of the device, consists of a locking plate (24), swivel mounted to one of the cutting elements (10), which engages with a rounded area (32) at the edge of a second plate (30). The edge of the locking plate (24) is shaped as a segment of a circle with an eccentric positioned centre, causing the two parts (10,12) to close extremely tight.
