PURPOSE: Disclosed is a process for testing and ensuring the availability of a networked system allocated to a system support in which a plurality of subscribers exchanges data via a bus network consisting of one or more lines, CONSTITUTION: At least individual subscribers (ECU1-ECU-8) transmit data via the line(s) by the application to the line(s) by the corresponding subscribers of given voltage levels and where the data are evaluated in at least one receiving subscriber by means of voltage levels, where the line(s) is/are monitored for varying above or below voltage levels by the at least one receiving subscriber. Signals on the bus network (BUS-H, BUS-L) are discriminated or tested or measured in conditions defined for all subscribers network-wide by individual subscribers during the operation of the system in accordance with at least one signal criterion, where characteristic status data are generated for each signal criterion with regard to each subscriber and assembled and arranged in at least one status map for the system, where the status data character is both the current status and at least one earlier status with regard to the tested subscriber with respect of the at least one criterion. At least one degree of error deviation of the networked system in relation to the at least one criterion is obtained from these status data.
