PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a resin composition for powder coating having respectively specific glass transition temperature and number average molecular weight, and excellent in waterproofness, appearance, thermosetting property and weather resistance by including a specific vinyl-based copolymer, an aliphatic dibasic acid and a leveling agent, or the like, as essential ingredients. SOLUTION: This resin composition for powder coating is prepared by including (A) 100 pts.wt. vinyl-based copolymer obtained through copolymerizing (i) 11-30 pts.wt. vinyl-based monomer having silyl groups of the formula [R1 is a 1-10C alkyl or the like; X is H, a halogen, OH, an alkoxy, or the like; (a) is 0-2], (ii) 1-30 pts.wt. vinyl-based monomer having glycidyl groups and (iii) 88-40 pts.wt. other copolymerizable vinyl-based monomer, (B) 1-30 pts.wt. aliphatic dibasic acid and (C) 0.1-10 pts.wt. leveling agent and/or skim-preventing agent as essential ingredients. The ingredient A has silyl groups of the formula as principal crosslinkable groups, and has 40-70 deg.C glass transition temperature and 7,000-12,000 number average molecular weight.
