The microsurgery clamp combines, prehensile and electro-coagulation functions. It comprises a head with a fixed jaw (1) electrically isolating from a moving jaw by an isolating ceramic axle (3). Both jaws are coated to prevent coagulated tissues from bonding. An externally insulated tube houses an insulated cable (6) that connects the moving jaw to the operating handle. Control of power supply to the electrodes (jaws) is via another part of the operating handle. Electrical power is connected to the cable (6) by a screw socket and the movement control ball that sits in the handle. Insulation between the various metallic components is by a layer deposited using thermal shocks in an autoclave.
|
