PURPOSE: An optical disk being stored editing and copy control information, an information recording control device for the optical disk, and a method of editing and copying the information are provided to prevent illegal copy of an audio and a video data. CONSTITUTION: A disk includes an audio and a video title information management region of an information file system, a coding mode region for setting up data compression mode to respective program information management regions and cell information management regions, and a TV system mode region for defining a transmission type of the TV. In the disk having regions for storing the characteristics of the tile information, the program information, and the cell information, the disk comprises an editing control flag including an edit permitting mode for editing the tile information, the program information, and the cell information, and an edit prohibition mode for prohibiting the edit. In addition the disk comprises a copy control information updating the number being capable of copy the edited audio and video titles according to the edit permitting mode.
