PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize automatically actually measured data as control data by transmitting the measured data to a bookbinder or a three-knife trimmer to be a next step of a gathering machine by automatically measuring a thickness and a length size of a fold section without stopping a flow of an automating line at a previous stage of feeding a signature to become a minimum parts of bookbinding from a folding machine. SOLUTION: In a gathering machine 3, a thickness measuring sensor 2 for measuring a thickness of a sandwiches fold section is provided in each feeding means. An automatic measuring station 33 of the section having automatic measuring units 34, 35 for measuring a thickness and a length size of the pull- out folder to be discharged is provided at a fold section conveying passage. Here, the measured thickness and the length size of the folder are transmitted to control/transmission units 41, 61 of a bookbinder 4, a three-knife trimmer 6 and the like of next step as actually measured data, and control data in a work station 42 or the like can be automatically set.
