PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the lowering of dust collecting efficiency with the elapse of time in an air cleaner. SOLUTION: In an air cleaner consisting of a front stage ionizing part charging sucked dust positively or negatively and a rear stage dust collection part attracting charged dust to recover the same, the dust collection part 1 comprises a combination of a voltage applying electrode and an earth electrode and the voltage applying electrode is inversed at every constant time to brought to inverse potential. The dust collection part 1 comprises a combination of positive and negative voltage applying electrodes and the voltage applying electrodes are together inversed at a constant time to be set to inverse potential.
