The arrangement (1,2) includes a memory (11,12) for storing files (14,15) and directories (7). A keyboard (13) is provided for accessing the files and the directories and a monitor (2) displays the data structure and the selected file. A separate state display field (16) is provided besides the selected file or the directory for improved visualising of the selected file and directory. The state display field has a display for the selection of the file and the directories. Preferably, the state display field includes a selection symbol especially an arrow (10) which is filled in with dark colour.
