PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of a heating or a vibration by arranging a heat pipe between a high heat source and a cold heat source, and intermittently transmitting the heat between the high heat source and the cold heat source via the pipe by a heating medium supplying and discharging unit, thereby eliminating a connection and disconnection of a solid contact of a switch piece. SOLUTION: In a refrigerator 4 having a heat pipe 2 including a condenser section 7, a heat insulation section 8 and an evaporator section 11 and disposed between a cold head 6 and a superconducting member 6 to be cooled, the section 11 is contained in a cryostat in the state that the section 11 has a heat transfer relation with the member 6. A heating medium supplying and discharging unit 3 is connected to communicate with a tube 9 of the pipe 3 via a supply and discharge tube 13. A buffer tank 17, a vacuum pump 18, an air intake tube 21 and a heating medium cylinder 22 are connected to the tube 13, and a function of the pipe 3 is intermittently connected by controlling suction and discharge of the medium indispensable for an operation of the pipe 3. |
