CAISSON CONSTRUCTION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a large steel caisson in a short time by facilitating the construction and removal of a floor surface to be constructed when the caisson is constructed by utilizing a dock at a shipbuilding yard. SOLUTION: In a dock used for constructing a large caisson, many groovelike members 13 provided on a bottom panel 12 inclined at an angleθare covered with a cover member 14 and gravels are spread thereon to construct a temporary work floor 17. After leveling a top face of the temporary work floor 17 flatly, an asphalt mat is spread and blocks are combined to construct the caisson.
