PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory circuit which can sharply reduce the time required for memory patrol. SOLUTION: A semiconductor memory 1 is one where a memory element small in memory size and a memory large in cell size are arranged in the structure of upper and lower two layers, and the memory small in cell size is used as a data memory 1a and the memory large in cell size is used as a check memory 1b, respectively. When performing the memory patrol, only the data memory 1a corresponding to the block where an error is detected in the check memory 1b is made the target of memory patrol. |
