PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To aim at reducing production man-hours and production costs by minimizing design change of the case so as to use existing components as common parts as much as possible irrespective of the change in the instrument panel configuration. SOLUTION: An air bag device M1 for the passenger seat is configured such that a case 5 housing an air bag 1 and an inflator 2 is connected to a synthetic resin instrument panel 14 downward of door portions 17, 18 thereof which open upon inflation of the air bag 1. A connecting retainer 7 is disposed between the case 5 and the instrument panel 14 so as to connect them. A substantially cylindrical boss portion 16 having a fixing hole 16a projects downward of the lower surface of the periphery of the door portion of the instrument panel 14. The connection retainer 7 has panel connection portions 10, 11 respectively provided with fixing holes 10a, 11a so as to be fixed to the boss portions 16 with screws 24, respectively. The case 5 and the connection retainer 7 are connected using a screw 8c. |
