<p>A magnetic recording device comprises a case (15, 16) that houses a disk drive motor (5) for rotating a recording medium (disk), a head (57) for reading information from and writing information onto the disk, and a head drive mechanism for driving the head. The case (15, 16) includes a cover (17) that may close a cartridge slot (18). When the cover (17) is leaned forward to open the cartridge slot (18), its upper surface becomes substantially at the same level as a frame plate on which the disk drive motor (5) and the head drive are mounted.</p> |
