PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to easily identify, in an installation site, network equipment managed by a management device, relating to a network equipment managing method whereby a plurality of network equipments are managed by the management device via a network. SOLUTION: The management device 1 automatically allocates identification information to individual network equipments 6-1 to 6-N and performs automatic management so that each of the network equipments 6-1 to 6-N visually outputs its identification information allocated at the managing side. Each of the network equipments 6-1 to 6-N is displayed, using the same identifier as the identification information, on the management screen of the management device 1. Thus, because the same identifier as that displayed on the management screen is displayed on each of the network equipments, the user can easily specify the network equipment in its installation site by viewing the management screen.
