The image processor uses a certain image processing technique with a reader of image data recorded on a film and read photo-electrically. The processor contains an unfocussed weighting image generator stage (50,52,54,56) which produces an unfocussed weighting image from the image data which weakly combines a main object zone and a background region. A color reproduction parameter generator stage (48) generates at least one color reproduction parameter for the main object zone and/or for the background area. An output image generator stage generates output image data from the image data using the color reproduction parameters for the main object zone weighted by a wt. of the unfocussed weighting image.
