PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new enzyme having a specific amino acid sequence, manifesting a DNase activities, activated by caspase concerning various apoptosis, and useful for removal of undesired cells such as cancerous cells, a reagent for the study of the apoptosis, or the like. SOLUTION: This enzyme is a new DNase (CAD) selected from a protein having an amino acid sequence of the formula, and a protein having an amino acid sequence of the formula having the deficiency, substitution and/or insertion of one or plural amino acids, and having the same DNase activities as the before protein, and activated by a caspase concerning various apoptosis. The DNase is useful for removal of undesired cells such as cancerous cells, a reagent for the study of cell death concerning the apoptosis, or the like. The enzyme is obtained by screening a cDNA library of a mouse T cell lymphoma by a probe comprising a partial sequence of CAD gene, incorporating the obtained gene to a vector and allowing the vector to be expressed. |
