PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a proliferation promoter of Bacillus subtilis, having activities for specifically proliferating only the Bacillus subtilis, and useful for improvement of culturing efficiency of the Bacillus subtilis and productivity of various kinds of materials produced by the Bacillus subtilis by using water-soluble component of a bamboo as an active ingredient. SOLUTION: This proliferation promoter comprises water-soluble component of a bamboo which is a compressed liquid of the bamboo. Bacillus subtilis is preferably cultured in a medium containing the water-soluble component of the bamboo (the addition amount is preferably 1-1,000 mg/mL expressed in terms of the raw bamboo), and the especially preferable kind of the bamboo is Dendroca lamusasper. |
