<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve moisture resistance of a driver circuit by coating the circuit with the passivation film having the specification that is superior than a certain specification and removing the film from a pixel matrix. SOLUTION: An active matrix panel is provided with the pixel matrix, which has plural gate and source lines and the transistors connected to the gate and the source lines, and the gate line driver circuit which supplies signals to the gate lines on a substrate. In order to maintain the moisture resistance, the driver circuit section is covered by a passivation film 85 having the film thickness of more than a certain value (for example, approximately 1μm). It is most effective to make the film 85 by forming the film 85 over the entire active matrix substrate and removing the film excluding for the portion of the driver section. Therefore, the film 85 is constituted of the material, which is processed by the etching liquid that does not affect insulating films 84 and 95, for example polyimide.</p> |
