PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need to blow a hot blast to optical fibers, to leave no air bubble inside even when high-viscosity resin is used, and to form coating resin to uniform thickness. SOLUTION: Optical fibers 2 when arranged on a plane, supplied to a UV- resion coating line, and coated are passed through a 1st coating die 12 and a 1st ultraviolet-ray curing device 14 first to form a base coating layer by applying UV resin of 100 to 200 cPs in viscosity thinnly to a thickness of 5 to 10μm. Then they are supplied to a 2nd coating die 18 and coated with UV resin which has its viscosity adjusted to 2500 to 3000 cPs to form a surface coating layer, which is cured by a 2nd ultraviolet-ray curing device 20 to a specific sectional size.
