PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain the acceleration of processing speed by reading a parameter corresponding to a reference grid point and a prescribed grid adjacent to the reference grid point from a table to be interpolated and performing the interpolating operation of data to be interpolated while using interpolating operation data. SOLUTION: When the coordinate value of color image data is defined as P(Rd, Gd, Bd) and the offset coordinate value is defined as (Roff, Goff and Boff), the offset coordinate value can be provided by subtracting a coordinate value (ir×D, ig×D, ib×D) of a base point K from the color image data. After a tetrahedron to be used for the interpolating operation is selected, based on the offset coordinate value, a weight coefficient to be multiplied to color correction data at each grid point is calculated. The obtained weight coefficient is multiplied to the color correction data at each grid point, its sum is obtained and color correction data corresponding to color image data P are obtained. Thus, the parameter is read out of the table to be interpolated and while using these interpolating operation data, the interpolating operation of data to be interpolated is performed.
