PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set automatically photographic conditions of a couple of cameras for obtaining a best stereoscopic image on a monitor screen. SOLUTION: In the method for generating a stereoscopic image, a pair of cameras 2a, 2b placed apart photograph the same stereoscopic object 1 to obtain a right eye image FR and a left eye image FL which are selectively displayed on the same monitor screen 8a for a prescribed period. Photographic conditions θ, 2ϕ of a pair of the cameras 2a, 2b with respect to the stereoscopic object 1 are calculated, based on amounts PN, PF projecting from the monitor screen 8a which are recognized by a viewer as a stereoscopic object, and on-installation conditions M, DM of the monitor screen 8a, so that the calculated photographic conditions are set to a pair of the cameras 2a, 2b. |
